I was very fortunate to be selected to produce this styled shoot for the owners of Dairy House farm, Aller in Somerset. Only just this year Dairyhouse Farm secured a marriage licence to enable ceremonies to take place onsite. This was something I had in my mind during planning this & the shoot was designed to promote that by picking up on the current interest in alternative outdoor style ceremonies in the UK.
I really wanted a Boho style wedding theme, taking influences from Bianca Jaggers famous trouser she wore when marrying Mick & used natural textiles with nods to the farm in the details of the props & styling. It was important to me to emphasise the beauty of local, British & handmade so all products featured are British with many being produced locally to the venue’s location.
Nick, one of the owners is a keen collector of old vintage vehicles & memorabilia so the venue is terrific to shoot around with an abundance of props & backdrops.
So, the scene was set as a 1970’s boho style outside ceremony, with the bride in a trouser suit (All in one) designed by House of Ollichon & the groom in tweed. Bride also has a bespoke wide brimmed floppy hat designed by a local designer & a hand crocheted bouquet. Finished with handmade wedge shoes, also by a small UK designer. Floral arrangements included, real peach fruit, pampas grass, twisted willow & peach/cream blooms, metallic copper accents with dark green foliage. The Interior set design is rustic, with trestle tables, candlelight, enamelware & hessian & muslin textiles, housed within an old milking shed.
Both the bride & groom are professional models, we also used professional floristry, MUA is professional & the locations shot are all within the venue; Orchard, Dutch Barn, Old milking shed & rustic antique cattle stalls.
My final colour pallet; Peach, Cream, shades of Brown, dark Green foliage , metallic copper accents
Fantasrically 15 UK suppliers collaborated including; House of Ollichon, Suave Owl, Alison Wright Millinery, Smith & Evans, House of Bendy, Virginias Vintage Hire, Bunting, enamelware, stationary, two cakes, shoes, metallic artwork, hand crochet bouquet, vintage motor vehicles.
I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed creating them. The venue website can be found here; https://www.dairyhousefarmsomerset.co.uk/ I’d love to shoot again there soon !
