Ruth & Alex’s Beautiful Easthampstead Park Wedding

Some love stories are just meant to be, and Ruth and Alex’s journey together is one of those. From meeting on their first day of work to that magical proposal overlooking the sea in Portland, their wedding day was always going to be something special. And honestly, capturing it all at the gorgeous Easthampstead Park was an absolute dream. It’s days like this that make my job so rewarding as a West Berkshire wedding photographer.
From Friendship to Forever
Ruth and Alex’s story started with shared lunchtimes and grew into something so much more. It’s proof that sometimes the best relationships begin with friendship. Alex’s proposal was straight out of a movie—on a clifftop in Portland, where you can see Weymouth and the sea. A place packed with meaning as their first holiday spot and where Ruth’s grandma used to live. It was meant to rain that day, but it didn’t—almost like their loved ones who couldn’t be there were watching over them.
The Venue That Stole Their Hearts
Choosing a venue is never easy, but Ruth and Alex had a system—they split the list of potential venues, shortlisted their favorites, and visited 10 together. Easthampstead Park was the clear winner. The stunning grounds, the perfect size, and the warm welcome from the team sealed the deal. It wasn’t just beautiful—it felt right. As a West Berkshire wedding photographer, I can say that Easthampstead Park is one of those venues that was a joy to work at & photograph.
Wedding Day Looks That Just Worked
Ruth and Alex’s style choices nailed the vibes of their Easthampstead Park wedding day Alex’s sage green tweed suit was relaxed and stylish—classic without feeling stuffy. The light brown suede shoes and matching belt tied it all together perfectly.
Ruth’s dress journey was more of a mission—hundreds of dresses tried before finding the one. Delicate lace, spaghetti straps, buttons down the back, and that train (oh, that train!). The sparkly veil was the cherry on top—when Ruth saw herself in it and her friends and family smiled knowingly, she just knew. And the pearl necklace? A timeless, elegant touch that made her feel like a star.
Meaningful Blooms
Flowers tell a story, and Ruth and Alex’s choices were full of meaning. Lavender and purple for Ruth’s favorite colors, roses for romance, and hydrangeas because they grew in Ruth’s family garden—always blooming back after winter. The bouquets were lush and full of life, carefully created by Olivia Brooke floral designs & exactly how they wanted them.
A Ceremony From the Heart
Ruth and Alex made sure their Easthampstead Park ceremony reflected them. The highlight? A heartfelt poem about love they wrote together, read by Ruth’s sister Amanda. It was personal, emotional, and so full of love.
A Cake with a Story
Their wedding cake, created by Catherine’s Cakes, was truly one-of-a-kind. It featured silhouettes of things that are important to Ruth and Alex—a mini preview of their life together. From meaningful places to symbols of their shared memories, the cake was a beautiful and personal touch that reflected their story perfectly. It was the center of attention in the Orangery with the Areca palms complimenting it beautifully. This made for a wonderful setting at Easthampstead Park for Ruth’s special speech to Alex just before they cut it.
A Dance to Remember
“One Life” by James Bay was the perfect first dance song. Ruth and Alex put together a simple but meaningful routine—nothing too formal, but it did include an amazing lift !
Surrounded by the people they love most on the dancefloor at Easthampstead Park, one of their favourite places, it was pure magic!

The Best Bit?
When asked about their favourite moment, Ruth and Alex agreed—seeing everyone they love together in one room. The laughter, the smiles, the hugs—it’s the kind of moment you wish you could freeze in time.
Advice for Future Couples
Their best tip? Live in the moment. Everyone says the day flies by—and it does—but make sure you soak up those little moments. The quick conversations, the shared glances, the way you feel when you look around and see everyone you love in one place.

Capturing the Magic
From our first conversation, I knew Ruth and Alex’s Easthampstead Park wedding was going to be special. Their engagement shoot was so much fun (extra points for bringing Seb, their Labrador!), and by the wedding day, it felt like I was photographing friends. My aim is always to capture those natural, real moments, and Ruth and Alex made that easy.
Their kind words & 5* Google review mean the world to me:
“Emma felt like your best friend on the day. Her high energy kept us buzzed all day long… The smiles and real moments she captured fill our hearts with joy, and we can’t wait to look back at our album time and time again.”
As a West Berkshire wedding photographer, capturing love stories like Ruth and Alex’s is why I do what I do. Their day was a dream, and I’m so grateful to have been part of it. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and all the happiness in the world!
