Jonty & Amanda......

Jonty & Amanda’s gorgeous & cosy tipi wedding was on the banks of the Kielder Reservoir.
Close friends & family travelled to Kielder Waterside & some even booked into some of the cabins to make a weekend of it!
Amanda arrived in style for the ceremony on the back of a golf cart, driven by a colleague of Jonty’s. Jonty has worked at Kielder Waterside all of his working life (nearly 30 years !).
Jonty has quite a famous back story as it goes; he is “The boy who pushed the button” a lovely local story which there’s more about on my stories & news page.
A&J were only the second wedding in the tipi that had recently been launched as a new venue at the park.
The Hexham Courant ran a feature on their wedding day with one of the pictures from our shoot included.

Autumn in Northumberland is normally quite damp. True to form the day of the wedding started with rain. I had one eye on the forecast throughout the day. Superbly the sun finally broke through for a few hours in the afternoon. I kept everything crossed that it would hold out until sunset & it did……just !
Jonty, Amanda & I snuck out onto a pontoon for just 20 minutes. We found an ideal opportunity betweeen the end of their day celebrations & the start of the evening party. It was chilly & the reservoir was choppy but no rain !!!
We got the shots & A&J were back in the tipi before anyone missed them. You’ll probably spot the stormy clouds building in the sky as you look through the photographs.

For me Jonty’s story & the significance of Kielder in their story mean’t there just had to be a romantic image of them in their album that featured the reservoir…..

For Jonty and Amanda, there was no other option but Kielder Waterside as the perfect setting to tie the knot.
