Jess & Jamie’s Romantic & Timeless Wasing Park Wedding.

A Day of Genuine Emotions.

From the moment I arrived at Wasing Park, I could feel the magic in the air. Tucked away in the gorgeous English countryside, this venue blends historic & romatic charm with timeless modern elegance. I do feel so fortunate as a wedding photographer that I live so very close to this quintessentially English wedding venue.

April 18th, 2024, will go down in history—at least for Jess and Jamie—as the day they tied the knot at Wasing Park and witnessed  West Ham draw 1-1 in a big Europa League match. Honestly, the whole day was an unforgettable mix of romance, laughter, and some sneaky score-checking from Jamie and his groomsmen!

Morning Prep: Cozy Moments & Anticipation

Jess spent the morning getting ready in Wasing Park’s light-filled bridal suite, surrounded by her mum, daughter & closest friends with plenty of giggles. She slipped into a gorgeous strapless gown and topped off her look with a simple pearl necklace. I could see the excitement in every smile in the room and every hug. Meanwhile, Jamie got ready nearby, pinning on a pink boutonniere (to match Jess’s bouquet!) and sharing a few calming moments with his groomsmen before the day kicked into full on wedding hype !

A Heartfelt Father-Daughter Reveal

The moment Jess’s dad saw her for the first time was unforgettable. He walked in with the biggest smile—only to be overwhelmed by sheer emotion when he finally laid eyes on her in that wedding gown. Wasing Park’s bridal suite let them share that beautiful moment without distraction. Their hug was everything—the perfect reminder of why I adore capturing all those tiny, tender interactions on wedding mornings.

Timeless Church Ceremony

Even though Wasing Park itself offers several ceremony options, Jess and Jamie chose the 15th century church of St Nicholas for their vows, adding an extra layer of tradition to their day. Stained-glass windows lit the aisle with soft, colorful light, and the bridesmaids’ sage-green dresses popped so beautifully against the classic wood pews. The second Jess appeared, Jamie’s face glowed.

Confetti & Castles.

After the ceremony, everyone headed outside of the church for the confetti throw & Jess and Jamie emerged to cheers, pastel petals, and so many laughs—it was the perfect way to kick off the party!

The venue’s castle-like brick courtyard added a romantic fairytale feel to their newlywed portraits, we also included the charming fountain at the center.

Wedding Party Style & Portraits

Jess’s bridesmaids wore sage-green gowns that brought a modern edge to the day’s soft, romantic palette. And let’s talk about Jamie—his navy suit paired with that pink tie was a total show-stopper next to Jess’s elegant gown. We took advantage of Wasing Park’s picturesque gardens and historic nooks for some romantic portraits, from intimate close-ups by the fountain to wider photos showcasing the estate’s sprawling lawns & the gorgeous victorian Summerhouse.

Castle Barn Reception: Modern Elegance Meets Warmth

Wasing Park’s castle barn is incredible reception space—it features exposed brick, twinkling fairy lights, and the perfect balance of rustic and refined vibes. Jess and Jamie decorated it with tall floral centerpieces in pastel pinks and blues created by Daiva & Eventie styling, matching the colours we’d seen all day. Their wedding breakfast was filled with laughter, thanks to heartfelt speeches that had everyone both tearing up and laughing out loud. Best man stories, father-of-the-bride jokes, and daughter Mia’s own sweet words to Jess & Jamie brought everyone in the room together.

All the Feels: Emotional Toasts & Family Hugs

Jess’s tearful reaction to her dad’s speech as he reminisced about her childhood, teased Jamie about his unwavering loyalty to the Hammers, and told them both that with a love like theirs, they could face any challenge. Jamie also got a surprise with the garter in the West Ham colours that Jess was secretly wearing.

Guests got teary, the flower girls offered comforting hugs, and the mood felt wonderfully intimate throughout. Even though the day included a bit of footie drama, it all ultimately came down to celebrating Jess and Jamie’s love.

Why Jess & Jamie’s Wasing Park Wedding was perfect for their romantic & timeless wedding.

Exposed brick barns, a courtyard fountain, and sprawling gardens—it’s the perfect blend of rustic charm and refined elegance.

  2. A Thoughtful Colour Palette
Sage-green dresses and soft pink florals popped beautifully against the venue’s natural tones and pastoral setting.

  3. Rustic Meets Refined

Their Photography Experience.

“Oh my gosh, where do I even start?! Emma was absolutely amazing throughout our whole wedding planning experience and most importantly on the day, the photos we received were absolutely amazing and cannot thank her enough for everything. She made us feel so comfortable and relaxed taking our photos and was patient even when we were running late and I was getting stressed!! Highly highly recommend Emma, wish we could do it all over again ❤️”

I loved capturing every joyous tear, every laughter-filled toast, and yes, even that tense moment when the match ended 1-1.

As a very local Wasing Park wedding photographer I stayed after the cake had been cut & the 1st dance, danced to include photos of the everyone enjoying the afterparty too !
