Some love stories just feel like they were meant to be, and Claire and Edd’s journey to ‘I do’ is exactly that—filled with romance, laughter, and the kind of moments that make your heart melt. From their first date to an unforgettable proposal in Bath & then their beautiful late Summer wedding day at Clock Barn was a true reflection of who they are as a couple. And what an incredible day it was!
How It All Began
Like so many couples these days, Claire and Edd met on a dating app. But from the very first date, they knew this was something special. “It was such a brilliant first date, we clicked instantly, and I just knew he was the one!” Claire recalls.
Fast forward to the anniversary of when they met & Edd had planned the most thoughtful proposal by the weir at Pulteney Bridge. Hidden photographers captured the moment, and even the restaurant staff were in on it! Talk about organisation—good thing Claire said yes!
Falling for Clock Barn
Some venues just have that magic about them, and for Claire and Edd, Clock Barn was exactly that. They first attended an open day just to have a look, but by the end of the tour, they knew there was nowhere else that would compare. With its gorgeous rustic charm, it was the perfect setting for their big day.
Being a West Berkshire wedding photographer, Clock Barn is just a short drive & I loved returning to this uniquely rustic venue for Edd & Claire’s beautiful wedding.
The Dress, The Suit & All the Little Details.
Claire’s dress wasn’t what she expected to fall in love with, but it turned out to be the one! “I always thought I’d go for an A-line style, but the shop owner picked out the Eddy K Argentina dress, and she was absolutely right! The train was my favourite part—it was so beautiful.”
Edd went for a classic navy suit with gold check and lining—perfectly tying in with their colour theme. The bridesmaids wore stunning mauve dresses, while the groomsmen had matching ties, making for a beautifully coordinated bridal party.
Florals by Laura at Wild Rose brought everything together, featuring soft whites, pinks, mauves, and hints of yellow. And in the sweetest nod to how they met, Claire and Edd incorporated a subtle bee theme into their decor, complete with handmade beehive centrepieces. Such a personal and meaningful touch!
A Ceremony Full of Love & Laughter
Claire and Edd’s wedding ceremony at Clock Barn was the perfect blend of heartfelt and fun. Special readings from Edd’s mum and sister—both from Disney films—brought a touch of magic to the moment.
And then came the giggles! Edd underestimated just how heavy Claire’s dress train was and he accidentally let it drop to the floor with a dramatic thud! Guests gasped before bursting into laughter—one of those perfectly imperfect moments that made the day all the more memorable.
An Unforgettable First Dance
Claire and Edd took their first dance to another level! They started with The One by Kodaline, before surprising everyone with a salsa routine to September by Earth, Wind & Fire—choreographed by Edd’s sister Polly. They kept it a secret from their guests, making the big reveal even more special. And when they invited everyone onto the dancefloor, the atmosphere was electric.
Favourite Moments & Wedding Advice
For both Claire and Edd, one of the most emotional moments was seeing each other at the end of the aisle. “That ‘OMG, we’re getting married!’ moment,” Claire says. And for Edd? “Thank God she didn’t run away!” With harpist Harriet playing in the background, it was truly unforgettable.
Their advice to future couples? “Book your suppliers early, especially if you have your heart set on someone! If your budget allows, get a wedding coordinator, ours was worth every penny—she took away so much stress and made sure everything ran smoothly.”

“Emma is AMAZING! She captured the day beautifully, with the perfect mix of natural and posed shots. Even the group photos were seamless, and she even had a squeaky toy on hand to get the best shots of our dog, Rupert!”
The whole process was smooth from start to finish. “Emma made us feel so at ease, and communication was brilliant throughout. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
