An elegant Elcot Park wedding at
The Retreat
The Retreat, A special place.
It was my first wedding booking at this elegant luxury hotel tucked away in Elcot Park.
Peter & Seema contacted me about their wedding photography after seeing me ‘at work’ photographing another wedding at Wasing Park. Peter, a keen photographer told me that he’d noticed my professional canon kit that I was using before he’d looked at any of my photos !
The Retreat at Elcot Park is a special place to Peter & Seema. They love to visit for lunch or dinner, or just to hang out & enjoy it so it was the #1 choice for a wedding venue for them when it came to planning their wedding.
It certainly is an incredibly photogenic location to hold a wedding, The grounds with views over the North Wessex downs provide an amazing backdrop for group photos.
Seema got ready in The Sutton Suite which has a gorgeous copper bath tub in front of the window. From a photographers point of view, this room was a delight to work in.
There are so many lovely rooms to use for photos at The Retreat, I’d also recommend the library for some fab groom portraits.
The quirky decor combined with a quintessentially british country manor vibe make creating gorgeous wedding photos easy !
A first look & pre wedding photoshoot.
A first look between a couple before their wedding ceremony gives them some special private moments together, on their own before they spend the rest of the day surrounded by their wedding guests.
After an emotional Peter saw Seema for the first time in her wedding dress in the Sutton Suite, we snuck out into the grounds for some pre wedding portraits.
With their guests arriving & exploring the hotel & grounds, it was a bit of a challenge avoiding them!
A hidden gem is the walled gardens at Elcot Park, they are hidden away in a secluded corner behind the tennis courts & it was the perfect location for some pre wedding portraits.
After a short ceremony in the Orangery, we took a few more portraits of just Peter & Seema before heading out into a confetti shower in front of the main house.
Peter & Seema’s guests had waited a while for this day!
So it was important to them both to spend as much time as possible with their friends & family. A relaxed 3 course meal concluding with coffee & chats was how they all celebrated & as the sun went down over the North Wessex downs we slipped out for a last photoshoot in the soft golden evening sunlight.
I loved this !!!!
Peter & Seema gave their guests the task of writing them a 1st wedding anniversary card before they left which have been carefully stored away for that special occasion next year.
